# The C# programming language

C# is Windows' attempt to improve on Java, and has very little to do with [C](computers-programming-c.md) technically (though it shares the name). Because of how easy it is to program compared to straight C, many high-end [games](computers-software-gamedev.md) are programmed in C#.
