Baffle - a narrow, vertical barrier in a container of liquid designed to keep the liquid from sloshing around from movement

Celsius - a temperature rating that uses 0 as the freezing point of water and 100 as the boiling point, though it was in reverse until the 1940s

Centigrade - literally "100 grade", typically refers to Celsius temperature, which is a type of centigrade

Compression - broad term for pressure applied to an object

Fahrenheit - a temperature rating that uses 0 as the stable temperature of a mixture of ice, water, and ammonium chloride and water boiling at 212 degrees

Gasket - a seal between two mating surfaces, typically for preventing leakage while under compression

Mating - broad term for a direct connection between two things

Static - not moving

Viscosity - how much friction liquids have inside themselves (e.g., engine oil versus water)
